Hon. Catharine Brydges was born circa 1580.2 She was the daughter of Giles Brydges, 3rd Baron Chandos of Sudeley and Lady Frances Clinton.1 She married Sir Francis Russell, 4th Earl of Bedford, son of Sir William Russell, 1st Baron Russell of Thornhaugh and Elizabeth Long, on 26 February 1608/9 at St. Mary le Strand, London, England.1 She died on 29 January 1656/57 at Chiswick, London, England.3,4,5 She was buried on 16 February 1656/57 at Chenies, Buckinghamshire, England.3

Her married name became Russell. As a result of her marriage, Hon. Catharine Brydges was styled as Baroness Russell of Thornhaugh on 9 August 1613. As a result of her marriage, Hon. Catharine Brydges was styled as Countess of Bedford on 3 May 1627.
